Cisco Certified Internet-work Profession (CCIP) is Cisco’s mid-level certification for IT professionals who have a detailed understanding of networking technologies in the service provider arena including Internet Protocol (IP) routing, Internet Protocol Quality of Service (IP QoS), Broader Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS). The CCIP was established in 2001 and has been most recently changed in the spring of 2003. It is an ideal certification for those who want to work in service provider organization. CCIP certified professionals have good knowledge of networking technologies which are applicable in commercial service provider fields. P personnel’s individuals working in service provider organizations with competencies in infrastructure of IP networking solutions.
The CCIP has as its prerequisite the knowledge and skills to install, configure, and operate basic network infrastructures. For CCIP professionals CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certificate is very important to have in hand which gives them much knowledge of networking.
To be a Cisco Certified Internet-work Profession (CCIP) one must pass the test of Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certificate.
There are two ways two pass CCIP exams one is to give 4 tests and the other is to give 3 tests.
4 test schedules is following:
Building Scalable Cisco Internet-works (BSCI) 642-901 or composite 642-892, QoS 642-642, Broader Gateway Protocol (BGP) 642-661, Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) 642-661.
3 tests schedule:
Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) 642-901 or 642-692 composite, QoS 642-642 and BGP+MPLS 642-691.
CCIP certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, pass any 642 exam that is part of the professional level curriculum after 01/01/06, or pass a current CCIE or CCDE written exam.
